Melilla is an  autonomous city of Spain and an exclave on the north coast of Morocco, with an area of . Melilla, along with the Spanish exclave Ceuta, is one of the two Spanish territories located in mainland Africa. It was regarded as a part of Málaga province prior to 14 March 1995, when the city's Statute of Autonomy was passed. Melilla (like Ceuta) was a free port before Spain joined the European Union. As of 2008 it has a population of 73,460. Its population consists of Christians, Muslims (chiefly Riffians), and small minorities of Jews. Both Spanish and Tarifit are widely spoken. Spanish is the only official language, while there have been calls to recognise Tamazight, a standardized version of all Berber languages official in Morocco, as well.

Melilla ( en arabe) (prononcer Méliya) est une ville autonome espagnole enclavée sur la côte nord-est du Rif oriental du Maroc, sur la Méditerranée, située dans la province du Nador. Administrée en tant que partie de la province de Málaga avant le , elle aujourd'hui le statut d'une ville autonome, assez proche de celui d'une communauté autonome espagnole. C’est un port franc depuis la fin du XIX siècle; la ville a perdu toute ses industries après 1956, c'est surtout aujourd'hui une place commerciale. Le commerce transfrontalier (légal ou de contrebande) constitue une autre source importante de revenus. Le secteur tertiaire représente en fait aujourd'hui sa principale activité économique (secteur bancaire, transports, administrations locales ou nationales). Les dernières estimations chiffrent sa population à habitants (2007).

Melilla är en spansk exklav vid Medelhavskusten i norra Marocko på den norra spetsen av Maghreb. Den utgör en Plaza mayores bland de spanska Plazas de soberania. Marocko gör anspråk på Melilla och Ceuta, en annan spansk exklav i Marocko. Liksom Ceuta är Melilla omgivet av stängsel för att förhindra illegal invandring.

Wolny port, ważny ośrodek rybołówstwa i przetwórstwa rybnego (głównie sardynek). Ma powierzchnię 20 km². Liczba mieszkańców (głównie Hiszpanów) w roku 2003 wyniosła 69 184 ludzi.
