Megadeth

Megadeth is an American thrash metal band led by founder, frontman and songwriter Dave Mustaine. Formed in 1983 following Mustaine's departure from Metallica, the band has since released eleven studio albums, six live albums, two EPs, and two compilations. As a pioneer of the American thrash metal movement, Megadeth rose to international fame in the mid 1980s, but were plagued by constant lineup changes, due partly to Mustaine's and fellow band members' notorious substance abuse problems. After finding sobriety and securing a stable lineup, Megadeth went on to release a string of platinum and gold albums from 1986-1997, including the Grammy nominated, double-platinum Countdown to Extinction in 1992. Megadeth disbanded in 2002 after Mustaine suffered a severe nerve injury to his left arm, but following extensive physical therapy, Mustaine reformed the band in 2004 and released The System Has Failed, which debuted at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, followed by United Abominations in 2007, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

Megadeth est un groupe de heavy metal américain formé en 1983, en Californie par Dave Mustaine. Ils sont reconnus comme l'un des quatre groupes de thrash metal les plus influents (The Big Four of Thrash) avec Metallica, Anthrax, et Slayer. Le groupe se dissout en 2002 à cause d'une blessure nerveuse sévère au bras gauche de Mustaine, mais après beaucoup de rééducation pour ce dernier, le groupe a pu se reformer en 2004.

Megadeth - amerykańska grupa metalowa powstała w 1983 grająca heavy metal/speed metal/thrash metal. Aktualnie nagrywa dla holenderskiej wytwórni Roadrunner Records.Megadeth charakteryzowały dynamiczne kompozycje z bardzo szybko i agresywnie granymi riffami gitar. Łatwo rozpoznawalny był również śpiew wokalisty i gitarzysty Dave'a Mustaine'a. Zespół był często porównywany do grupy Metallica (której Mustaine był członkiem) chociaż styl gry obu zespołów zwłaszcza po ukazaniu się płyt debiutanckich znacząco się różnił. Jednak utwory, których współautorem był Mustaine ukazały się jeszcze na drugiej płycie Metalliki Ride the Lightning. Na pierwszej płycie Megadeth znalazł się utwór "The Mechanix", który Metallica umieściła na swoim debiutanckim albumie "Kill'em All" pod nazwą "The Four Horsemen". Jego współautorami są Hetfield, Ulrich i Mustaine. James Hetfield dopisał nowy tekst, a gitarzysta Metalliki Kirk Hammett nagrał swoją solówkę, wykorzystując jednak początek solówki napisanej przez Mustaine'a. Ponadto, akustyczny motyw otwierający utwór "The Call Of Ktulu" z płyty "Ride The Lightning" został wykorzystany w otwarciu "Hangar 18" z "Rust in Peace".
