Mdina, Città Vecchia, or Città Notabile, (, or ; Phoenician: מֶלִיטָה, Melitta) is the old capital of Malta. Mdina is a medieval walled town situated on a hill in the centre of the island. Punic remains uncovered beyond the city’s walls suggest the importance of the general region to Malta’s Phoenician settlers. Mdina is commonly called the "Silent City" by natives and visitors. The town is still confined within its walls, and has a population of just over three hundred, but it is contiguous with the village of Rabat, which takes its name from the Arabic word for suburb, and has a population of over 11,000.

Mdina ist eine der früheren Hauptstädte Maltas mit heute etwa 300 Einwohnern.

Mdina (prononcer « imdina ») est l'ancienne capitale de Malte. C'est une ville fortifiée du centre de l'île, siège de la localité du même nom. D'ailleurs Mdina signifie ville fortifiée en maltais. Elle est surnommée "The Silent City", car elle n'est habitée que par 300 habitants, car s'applique une taxe spéciale destinée aux habitants de "villes médiévales", et les voitures n'y sont pas autorisées.

Mdina eller den "Tysta staden" är den gamla huvudstaden på Malta. Det är en medeltida stad med många små smala gränder. Fenicierna var de som först befäste staden omkring 1000 f.Kr. När Johanniterorden blev tilldelad Malta av Spanien 1530 ansåg de att staden var oländigt belägen och utan hamn. De bytte då huvudstad till Birgu.
