Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn

The Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGB) is a narrow gauge railway in Switzerland. The track width is . It was created in 2003 by amalgamation of Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) and BVZ Zermatt-Bahn (BVZ).The network is 144 km long and reaches from Disentis in the Canton of Graubünden and over the Oberalp Pass and Andermatt in the Canton of Uri (with another line in Göschenen). over Realp and into the Furka Tunnel near Oberwald in the Canton of Wallis, Brig and Visp and into Zermatt beneath the Matterhorn.

De Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGB) is een private smalspoormaatschappij in Zwitserland die op 1 januar 2003 is ontstaan na een fusie tussen de Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) en de Brig-Visp-Zermatt-Bahn (BVZ).De maatschappij beheert een spoorwegnet van 144 kilometer, met een spoorbreedte van 1.000 millimeter. De belangrijkste spoorlijn van de MGB is die van Disentis in Graubünden over de Oberalppas via Andermatt, de Furka-Basistunnel, Brig en Visp naar Zermatt. Ook de korte spoorlijn tussen Andermatt naar Göschenen, de oorspronkelijke Schöllenenbahn, behoort tot de MGB. In Disentis is er een aansluiting op het spoorwegnet van de Rhätische Bahn, waarmee de MGB gezamenlijk de Glacier Express exploiteert tussen Zermatt en St. Moritz, Davos en/of Chur. In Göschenen en Brig is er een overstapmogelijkheid op de treinen van de Schweizerische Bundesbahnen (SBB).
