English ballad singer of the
1960s and one of the great international post-
World War II entertainers. Throughout his 30-year career, he filled
cabarets, nightclubs, music halls and stadiums across the globe, from
Australia,
Japan, the
Philippines, and
Hong Kong to
Africa, the
Middle East,
Europe, and the Americas. He sold more than 100 million records during his lifetime, imbuing each one with his elegant blend of majesty, sincerity, and superior technique.

Matt Monro, echte naam Terence Parsons (

7 februari 1985) was een
Britse zanger.Hij was truck- en buschauffeur, maar zingen was zijn grootste passie. In
1954 trad hij voor het eerst op en twee jaar later had hij al succes. Eind jaren 50 had hij een platencontract beet en tot
1974 stond hij geregeld in de hitparade, hij werd de zingende buschauffeur genoemd. In
1964 nam hij deel aan het
Eurovisiesongfestival en werd er 2de met I love the little things. Een andere deelnemer was
Udo Jürgens en Monro vond zijn lied Warum nur warum zo goed dat hij het coverde in het Engels als Walk away en een dikke hit beet had.
