Masbate is an island province of the Philippines located in the Bicol Region. Its capital is Masbate City and consists of three major islands: Masbate, Ticao and Burias.

Masbate ist sowohl eine Inselgruppe als auch eine Provinz der Philippinen. Sie liegt zwischen der Südost-Spitze von Luzon und Panay und hat eine Fläche von 4.082 km². Im Jahre 1980 lebten 584.500 Menschen auf der Inselgruppe.Masbate besteht aus folgenden Inseln:Masbate (Insel) (3296 km², 435.200 Einwohner)Burias (424 km², 76.400 Einw.)Ticao (334 km², 72.900 Einw.)Hauptwirtschaftszweige sind Mais- und Reisanbau, Fischerei und Rinderzucht.
