Until March 312003, the company was known as Marvelous Entertainment, though the name was changed to reflect the acquirement of Victor Interactive Software in 2002. In the acquision Marvelous obtained all the rights to the popular Harvest Moon series and other Victor Interactive Software series. In 2004, Marvelous revealed plans to start publishing games outside of Japan and establish Rising Star Games in Europe.
