Marsia
Marsiya (Marsia) is an elegiac poem written (especially in Persia and India) to commemorate the martyrdom and valour of Hussain ibn Ali and his comrades of the Karbala. They are essentially religious.

Urdu: مرنے والے کو رونا اور اس کی خوبیاں بیان کرنا مرثیہ کہلاتا ہے ۔ مرثیہ کی صنف عربی سے فارسی اور فارسی سے اردو میں آئی ۔ لیکن اردو اور فارسی میں مرثیہ کی صنف زیادہ تر اہل بیت یا واقعہ کربلا کے لیے مخصوص ہے۔
