Marshalltown
Marshalltown est une ville américaine, siège du comté de Marshall au centre de l'Iowa, sur les rives de la rivière Iowa. La population de la ville était en 2000 de 26.009 habitants. La ville a été fondée en 1853 par Henry Anson et nommée d'après la ville de Marshall, Illinois. Comme il y avait déjà une ville nommée Marshall dans l'Iowa, la ville a été nommée Marshalltown.

Marshalltown
Marshalltown is een stad, dat centraal gelegen ligt in de staat Iowa, Verenigde Staten. De stad had in 2000 26.009 inwoners. Marshalltown is de zetel van de Marshall Co., te Centraal Iowa, gelegen aan de Iowa-rivier.

Marshalltown is ontstaan rond 1863, na de aansluiting van de Staat Iowa bij de Unie, op 28 december 1846, als 29ste Staat van de Verenigde Staten. De toenmalige voortrekkers en gelukzoekers kwamen er vestigen. In 1863 stichtten ze een handelspost langs de Iowa-rivier en tevens een nederzetting, dat uitgroeide tot heden een bedrijvige stad.
