Marie Anne Mancini

Marie Anne Mancini (Rome, 1649 - Paris, 1714), niece of Cardinal Mazarin, was the youngest of the five Mancini sisters. Her sisters were Laura, Olympia, Marie and Hortense.She married Maurice Godefroy de la Tour d'Auvergne in 1662, nephew of Turenne and duke of Bouillon.She raised the 2 children of her older sister Laura, after her death. One of them was the famous general Louis Joseph, duc de Vendôme. Marie Anne will also be remembered for her literary pursuits and for her patronage of the young La Fontaine.
