Margareta Arvidsson

Margareta Arvidsson is the 1966 Miss Universe. Born in Vänersborg, raised in Göteborg. She is the second Swedish beauty to hold the crown, 11 years after Hillevi Rombin.She also won the Miss Photogenic title.It is not a secret that Margareta did not want to win the pageant. She told the American producers at the Miss Universe pageant before the contest that she was homesick, tired and ´´want to go home´´. Her first comment after the crowning was ´´I won't do it! I won't!´´. Her first runner-up, Miss Finland, Satu Östring replied: ´´Don't cry Margareta! I could wear the crown instead of you!´´.

Margareta Arvidsson, född i Vänersborg men uppvuxen i Göteborg, svensk skönhetsdrottning. Hon vann Miss Universum 17 juli 1966, då som den andra svenskan någonsin, elva år efter Hillevi Rombin. Efter att ha vunnit tävlingen arbetade hon som modell åt Ford Modeling Agency och uppträdde både på scen och i film.
