Mapai

Mapai (, an acronym for Mifleget Poalei Eretz Yisrael , lit. Land of Israel Workers' Party) was a left-wing political party in Israel, and was the dominant force in Israeli politics until its merger into the Alignment in the mid-1960s. It is the major ancestor of the modern-day Labour Party.
