Maldives

The Maldives (or Maldive Islands) ( or ), officially the Republic of Maldives, is an island nation consisting of a group of atolls in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives is located south of India's Lakshadweep islands, and about seven hundred kilometers (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka. The Maldives' twenty-six atolls encompass a territory featuring 1,192 islets, roughly two hundred of which are inhabited by local communities.

Les Maldives sont un pays d'Asie du Sud-Ouest constitué de 1 199 îles, dont 202 habitées, situées à environ 451 km au sud du Deccan. Sa superficie est de 299 km². Les îles sont regroupées en 26 atolls portant chacun le nom d'une ou deux lettres de l'alphabet maldivien (écriture thâna).

Die Malediven (amtlich: Republik Malediven, (divehi: ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޖުމުހޫރިއްޔާ, Rajjeyge Jumhuriyya) ist ein Inselstaat im Südwesten der Südspitze Indiens im Indischen Ozean und besteht aus mehreren Atollen und 1.190 Inseln, wovon 220 von Einheimischen bewohnt werden und 87 weitere für touristische Zwecke genutzt werden. Die Malediven bestehen aus 99% Wasser und aus 1% Land.

Malediwy – archipelag oraz państwo wyspiarskie o tej samej nazwie, położone na Oceanie Indyjskim, ok. 500 km na południowy zachód od południowego krańca Indii.Archipelag to ok. 1190 wysepek osadzonych na 26 atolach koralowych narosłych na podmorskim łańcuchu wulkanicznym, ciągnącym się przez 820 km z północy na południe i 120 km ze wschodu na zachód, 202 z tych wysepek jest zamieszkanych. Łączna powierzchnia lądowa archipelagu to 298 km², mieszkańców 280 tys. (stan na rok 2004), co daje zagęszczenie 933 os./km2;. Średnie temperatury powietrza wynoszą 29-32°C.
