Mudhar or Mudar (Arabic: مضر), purported
patriarch of one of two major branches of the so-called "North Arabian" (
Adnanite) tribes, the other branch being
Rabi'ah. Mudhar descended from Nizar, the son of Ma'ad, the son of
Adnan. Adnan's descent is traced over forty generations to Ismail son of
Abraham.
