MANGROVE

Mangroves (generally) are trees and shrubs that grow in saline coastal habitats in the tropics and subtropics. The word is used in at least three senses, (1) most broadly to refer to the habitat and entire plant assemblage or mangal , for which the terms mangrove swamp and mangrove forest are also used, (2) to refer to all trees and large shrubs in the mangal, and (3) narrowly to refer to the mangrove family of plants, the Rhizophoraceae, or even more specifically just to mangrove trees of the genus Rhizophora. Mangals are found in depositional coastal environments where fine sediments, often with high organic content, collect in areas protected from high energy wave action.

La mangrove est un groupement de végétaux principalement ligneux qui se développent dans la zone de balancement des marées appelée estran des côtes basses des régions tropicales. On trouve aussi des marais à mangroves à l'embouchure de certains fleuves. Ces milieux particuliers procurent des ressources importantes (forestières et halieutiques) pour les populations vivant sur ces côtes. Les mangroves sont les écosystèmes les plus productifs en biomasse de notre planète. Les espèces ligneuses les plus notables sont les palétuviers avec leurs pneumatophores et leurs racines-échasses.

Mangrovenbäume sind verholzende Salzpflanzen unterschiedlicher botanischer Zugehörigkeit. Ihr gemeinsames Merkmal ist, dass sie sich an das Leben im Gezeitenbereich tropischer Küstenregionen angepasst haben und nur dort bestandsbildend sind.

Namorzyny (lasy namorzynowe, mangrowia) - wiecznie zielone lasy w strefie międzyzwrotnikowej znajdujące się w zasięgu pływów morskich. Jest to formacja ziemno-wodna, podczas przypływu zalewana jest wodą morską (widoczne są wtedy tylko korony drzew), podczas odpływu odsłania się powierzchnia gruntu. Szczególnie bujna roślinność namorzynowa porasta zabagnione ujścia rzek. Lasy namorzynowe należą do najbogatszych ekosystemów Ziemi – najbardziej złożonych i charakteryzujących się największą produkcją biologiczną. Tu znajdują się siedliska wielu gatunków zagrożonych. Lasy te odgrywają istotną rolę w procesie lądowacenia, bowiem plątanina korzeni zatrzymuje niesiony przez rzeki materiał i powoduje jego osadzanie, pnie i gałęzie chronią z kolei przed erozyjnym działaniem fal morskich. Korzenie zatrzymują także zawiesiny i zanieczyszczenia spływające z lądu, przez co oczyszczają wody morskie i chronią przed szkodliwymi wpływami wrażliwe, przybrzeżne rafy koralowe.

Il termine mangrovia designa l'associazione di piante prevalentemente legnose che si sviluppano sui litorali bassi delle coste marine tropicali, particolarmente nella fascia periodicamente sommersa dalla marea.Le specie che vivono nelle mangrovie sono altamente specializzate per poter sopportare e anzi utilizzare a proprio beneficio l'acqua salata del mare e anche per poter germogliare in un ambiente continuamente battuto dalle onde e dal ritmo delle maree.Un altro fattore negativo per le piante è la scarsa ossigenazione del suolo, che risulta inoltre quasi sempre instabile.
