The M1 Derby is a derby in the A-League that involves Queensland's Brisbane Roar FC and Gold Coast United FC of the Hyundai A-League. They are considered to be a fierce rival in the A-League due to being two of the closest teams geographically. It is named the M1 Derby, with reference to the M1 motorway that links the two cities. However it is also known in the media as the 'South East Derby'. Following the expulsion of Gold Coast United from the A-League it is now defunct.
