Lutherstadt Eisleben

Eisleben is a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is famous as the hometown of Martin Luther, hence its official name is Lutherstadt Eisleben. Eisleben was first mentioned in 994 as a market called Islebia and in 1180 as a town. It belonged to the counts of Mansfeld until it passed to Saxony in 1780. It was assigned to Prussia in 1815. Eisleben is divided into old and new towns (Altstadt and Neustadt); the latter of which was created for Eisleben's miners in the 14th century.

Eisleben ist die zweitgrößte Stadt im Landkreis Mansfeld-Südharz im östlichen Harzvorland, Sachsen-Anhalt. Bekannt ist sie als Geburts- und Sterbeort von Martin Luther. Eisleben zählt zusammen mit der Lutherstadt Wittenberg seit 1996 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und gehört dem "Bund der Lutherstädte" an. Die Lutherstätten in Eisleben und Wittenberg haben sich zusammen zur Stiftung Luthergedenkstätten in Sachsen-Anhalt vereint.

Eisleben - miasto w Saksonii-Anhalt w środkowych Niemczech. Znane jako rodzinne miasto Marcina Lutra, stąd jego oficjalna nazwa brzmi Lutherstadt Eisleben (pol. Miasto Lutra Eisleben). Drugie co do wielkości miasto powiatu Mansfeld-Südharz. Była stolica dawnego powiatu Mansfelder Land. Historia miasta jest ściśle związana z wydobyciem i obróbką rud miedzi, które przyczyniły się do rozkwitu gospodarczego i kulturalnego miasta w XV-XVI w. Górnictwo było główną gałęzią przemysłu w Eisleben aż do połowy XX w. Obecnie gospodarka miasta opiera się na turystyce.
