Ljubljana (; , , or Aemona) is the capital of Slovenia and its only centre of international importance. It is located in the centre of the country in the Ljubljana Basin, and is the centre of the City Municipality of Ljubljana. With approximately 272,000 inhabitants, it classifies as the only Slovenian large town. Throughout its history, it has been influenced by its geographic position at the crossroads of the Slavic world with the Germanic and Latin cultures.

Ljubljana (API , français Laybach, allemand Laibach , italien Lubiana est la ville principale et la capitale de la Slovénie. Ljubljana, qui reste toutefois une ville de taille moyenne avec environ Ljubljanais, a été influencée tout au long de son histoire par différentes cultures par sa position géographique charnière entre les cultures germanique, latine et slave. Depuis 1991, la ville est le centre économique et culturel principal de la république de Slovénie récemment devenue indépendante.

Ljubljana (på italienska Lubiana, tyska Laibach) är huvudstaden och den största staden i Slovenien, belägen där Ljubljanica rinner ut i Sava i kommunen Ljubljana. Folkmängden i centrala Ljubljana uppgår till cirka 270 000 invånare, med ytterligare omkring 10 000 invånare i resterande del av kommunen.
