With 17 goals in the UEFA Champion's League (April 3, 98) Litmanen is second in all-time top-scorer in Europe's most important cup, just behind soccerking Alessandro del Piero. He moved to MyPa Anjalankoski, but he only played there for a few months because Ajax Amsterdam had noticed this young, promising player. Ajax bought Litmanen for 100,000 dollars and believe it or not... that is still the biggest transfer fee in Finland, (Litmanen is now worth about 10 Million dollars). "Litti" didn´t get many chances to play from start during his first year in Ajax. But when Dennis Bergkamp moved to Italy, Litmanen started to play well, sometimes even better than Bergkamp. Litmanen only became better and better and he was one of the big reasons that Ajax won the European league in 1995. Litmanen got many injuries which have done that he hasn´t really been as good as he used to. But we´re still waiting for more goals by this superb Finnish striker and midfielder.
