List of unrecognized accreditation associations of higher learning

In the United States, accredited institutions of higher education must be accredited by agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Often a school claiming accreditation from an unrecognized accreditor will not be viewed as legitimate in the academic community[1]. Students in USA who attend institutions of higher education that are accredited through accreditation associations not recognized by the US Department of Education will not qualify for Title IV funding (Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, etc.).
