This is a list of the Governors of the State of Mississippi.Prior to 1804, parts of Mississippi were part of the state of Georgia; see List of Governors of Georgia for this period.The southern bit of Mississippi was part of the self-proclaimed Republic of West Florida in 1810; it had only one president, Fulwar Skipwith.Prior to then, that bit was part of the Spanish colony of West Florida; see List of Colonial Governors of Florida.
