Linge

Linge is a river in the Betuwe that is over 100 km long, which makes it one of the longest rivers that flow entirely within the Netherlands.It starts near the village Doornenburg near the German border. It flows to Tiel and from there on meanders through the Betuwe, to end in the Boven Merwede near Gorinchem. Until Geldermalsen the river is little more than a small, canalised stream. From Geldermalsen on however, it begins to look like a real river complete with dikes and small floodplains. The river was once a branch of the river Rhine but it has been cut off a very long time ago. The river is navigable for small vessels and is a popular route for recreational ships. The borders of the river has strong natural values and are important breedinggrounds for waterloving birds.

La Linge est une rivière néerlandaise qui traverse la région de Betuwe depuis Doornenburg jusqu'à Gorinchem. Avec ses 100 km, c'est la plus longue rivière à se situer entièrement sur le territoire néerlandais. Sur la plus grande partie de la rivière, la navigation n'est pas possible.

Die Linge ist ein 108 km langer Fluss in den Niederlanden, der durch die Provinzen Südholland und Gelderland fließt. Sie hat ihren Ursprung bei Schloss Doornenburg in der Gemeinde Lingewaard bei Arnheim, durchfließt die für ihren Obstbau bekannte Landschaft Betuwe und mündet bei Gorinchem in die Merwede.
