Leviticus

Leviticus is the third book of the Hebrew Bible, of the Old Testament, and of the Torah (five books of Moses). In Hebrew, it is called by its first word, Vayikra , "and He called". (Vayikra is also the name of the first weekly Torah reading or parshah in the book.) Despite the English title of the work, it is important to note that the book makes a very strong distinction between the priesthood, who are identified as being descended from Aaron, and mere Levites. The English name is derived from the Latin Liber Leviticus which is from the Greek (το) Λευιτικόν (i.e., βιβλίον), "of the Levites"

Le Lévitique est un des cinq livres du Pentateuque dans l'Ancien Testament chez les chrétiens ou Torah chez les Juifs. Il doit son nom au terme « lévite », prêtre hébreu, lui-même issu de la tribu de Lévi. Il parle des devoirs sacerdotaux en Israël. Il met l'accent sur la sainteté de Dieu et le code selon lequel son peuple pouvait vivre pour devenir saint. Son but est d'enseigner les préceptes moraux et les vérités religieuses de la loi de Moïse au moyen du rituel.

Das im Deutschen gewöhnlich 3. Buch Mose oder Levitikus genannte Buch heißt im Hebräischen nach den ersten Worten des Buches Wajikra (Und es rief, ויקרא) und im Griechischen und Lateinischen Levitikon bzw. Leviticus ((το) Λευιτικόν (βιβλίον), „Leviten-Buch“).Das 3. Buch Mose ist im Original in hebräischer Sprache geschrieben und ist Teil der jüdischen Tora, die im griechischen auch als Pentateuch bezeichnet wird. Im Deutschen spricht man von den „5 Büchern Mose“, die den ersten Teil des alten Testaments der christlichen Bibel bilden. Im Cheder, der traditionellen Ausbildung für jüdische Jungen bis zum 13. Lebensjahr, begann das Studium der Tora mit der Lektüre des Beginns des 3. Buches Mose.

Księga Kapłańska [Kpł], Trzecia Księga Mojżeszowa [3 Mojż], (hebr. ויקרא (Wajikra) - "zawołał" - od pierwszych słów księgi, gr. Λευιτικόν Leuitikon z Septuaginty, w nawiązaniu do Lewitów) to trzecia księga Pisma Św. (przed nią jest Księga Wyjścia) i Pięcioksięgu, a tym samym Starego Testamentu.Nazwa księgi pochodzi od jej głównego tematu, czyli opisu różnorakich obrzędów i zachowań związanych z oddawaniem czci Jahwe, prawa, wreszcie opis odpowiednich ofiar za popełnione grzechy. Wydarzeń opisano w Księdze Kapłańskiej bardzo mało.Jednymi z najważniejszych słów Księgi Kapłańskiej są wielokrotnie powtarzane słowa Bądźcie świętymi, bo Ja jestem święty!. Z tego też powodu rozdziały 17-26 wyodrębnia się jako tzw. Kodeks Świętości

Il Levitico è il terzo libro della Torah ebraica e della Bibbia cristiana. Essendo parte del Pentateuco si ritrova nell'Antico Testamento secondo tutte le confessioni religiose.Il canone ebraico chiama il libro, dalle prime parole utilizzate nel testo masoretico, Vaykrah ויקרא ("Ed Egli chiamò"). Il nome italiano deriva dal latino Liber Leviticus che viene dal greco (το) Λευιτικόν (i.e., βιβλίον).
