Leica Camera
Leica Camera AG, a German optics company, produces Leica cameras. The predecessor of the company, formerly known as Ernst Leitz GmbH, is now three companies: Leica Camera AG, Leica Geosystems AG, and Leica Microsystems AG, producing cameras, geosurvey equipment, and microscopes, respectively. Leica Microsystems AG is the owner of the Leica brand, and grants licences to Leica Camera AG and Leica Geosystems.

Die Leica Camera AG (Leica: Abkürzung für Leitz(sche) Camera) ist ein Unternehmen aus Deutschland, das in der optischen Industrie tätig ist. Das Unternehmen hat sich auf die Fertigung von Fotoapparaten und Ferngläsern spezialisiert. Die Leica Camera AG entstand 1986 aus der Ernst Leitz Wetzlar GmbH, die das Nachfolgeunternehmen des von Carl Kellner 1849 in Wetzlar gegründeten Optischen Instituts gewesen ist.

Leica
Leica är en tillverkare av kameror, optik, mikroskop, kikare och optisk mätutrustning. Företaget har sitt ursprung i Wetzlar, Tyskland. Produktionen av Leica-kameror inleddes 1925. Några av världens mest kända nyhetsbilder har tagits med Leica-kameror. Kamerans ringa storlek bidrog till att göra den till ett reporterverktyg med världsrykte redan under mellankrigstiden.

Leica
Leica (nazwa pochodzi od nazwiska właściciela zakładów: Leitz oraz od słowa camera) — marka pierwszych fotograficznych aparatów małoobrazkowych.
Pierwszy aparat marki Leica skonstruował Oskar Barnack w 1913 roku. Pomysłem autora było użycie w aparacie fotograficznym około 2 metrów perforowanej taśmy kinematograficznej, w celu uzyskania 40 klatek na jednym odcinku błony. Klatka małoobrazkowa 24x36mm powstała z podwojenia kinowej 18x24mm.
Aparat "Leica" rozpoczął nowoczesny reportaż fotograficzny. Dzięki rozmiarom i poręczności tego sprzętu fotoreporter mógł znajdować się w centrum wydarzeń.
