Lebanon (IPA: /lɛ.bə.nɔn/) (Arabic: لبنان Lubnān) (French: Liban), officially the Lebanese Republic , is a small, largely mountainous country in the Middle East, located at the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. It is bordered by Syria to the north and east, and Israel to the south. Due to its sectarian diversity, Lebanon follows a special political system, known as confessionalism, meant to distribute power as evenly as possible among different sects.

Le Liban (, Lubnän), officiellement République libanaise est un pays du Proche-Orient, en grande majorité montagneux. Il partage ses frontières avec deux pays, la Syrie à l'est, sur 376 km et Israël au Sud sur 79 km . Il est bordé par la mer Méditerranée, à l'ouest, avec 240 km de côtes. Beyrouth est la capitale du Liban. La langue officielle est l'arabe, cependant, la moitié des Libanais sont francophones et la langue anglaise est largement utilisée. La monnaie nationale est la livre libanaise.

Der Libanon (amtlich: Libanesische Republik (arabisch: ) ist ein Staat in Vorderasien am Mittelmeer. Libanon grenzt an Syrien im Norden und Osten und an Israel im Süden, am Mittelmeer zum Westen. Der Libanon wird zu den Maschrek-Staaten gerechnet.

Il Libano (arabo: لبنان, Lubnān; nella forma estesa ﺍﻟﺠﻤﻬﻮﺮﻴﺔ ﺍﻟﻠﺒﻨﺎﻨﻴﺔ, Al-Ǧumhūriyya al-Lubnāniyya, ossia "Repubblica libanese") è uno stato del Vicino Oriente che si affaccia sul settore orientale del Mare Mediterraneo. Il Libano confina a nord e ad est con la Siria e a sud con Israele. Ad ovest si affaccia sul Mare Mediterraneo.
