Laos ((, , , or ) Lao: ສາທາລະນະລັດ ປະຊາທິປະໄຕ ປະຊາຊົນລາວ, Sathalanalat Paxathipatai Paxaxon Lao), officially the Lao People's Democratic Republic, is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Burma and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south and Thailand to the west. Its population was estimated to be 6.5 million in 2012.

Die Laikós Orthódoxos Synagermós (, deutsch: „Völkisch-orthodoxe Sammlung“ oder „Völkisch-orthodoxer Alarm“, kurz: oder LAOS, mit Betonung auf dem „o“) ist eine politische Partei in Griechenland. Die Partei ist Mitglied der europakritischen Fraktion Unabhängigkeit und Demokratie (IND/DEM) und verfügt über zwei Abgeordnete im Europaparlament. Sie versteht sich als nationalkonservative Kraft, die SPD-nahe Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung bezeichnet sie aber als „extrem rechts“, die den Grünen nahe stehende Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung ordnet die LAOS als „nationalistisch und neo-rassistisch, eher systemkritisch“ ein.
