Laino

For the river called Laino, see Lao River Laino is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 km north of Milan and about 15 km north of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 514 and an area of 6.8 km².Laino borders the following municipalities: Blessagno, Claino con Osteno, Colonno, Pellio Intelvi, Pigra, Ponna, Ramponio Verna, San Fedele Intelvi.

[Basque] Sister of Odei, she is the personification of fog in Basque animism. A very evil being, she usually hides in caves, waiting for an occasion to emerge. Also called Laño.
