La tempesta

Early music ensemble La Tempesta came into begin in 1998 in Poland, created by Jakub Burzyński, its conductor and artistic director. La Tempesta specializes in the stylistic representation of works from the 16th to 18th century; often presents reconstructions of musical events from the past or programmes combining music, literature and dance.

La tempesta (The Tempest) è tradizionalmente ritenuta la penultima opera di William Shakespeare (l'ultima sarebbe l'Enrico VIII) e dovrebbe essere quella che segnò l'addio alle scene del celebre drammaturgo (almeno come attore). Fu rappresentata per la prima volta il 1° novembre 1611 al Whitehall Palace di Londra; probabilmente, in seguito fu messa in scena anche al Globe Theatre e al Blackfriars Theatre.
