LRA

The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), formed in 1987, is a rebel guerrilla army operating mainly in northern Uganda and parts of Sudan. The group is engaged in an armed rebellion against the Ugandan government in what is now one of Africa's longest-running conflicts. It is led by Joseph Kony, who proclaims himself a spirit medium, and apparently wishes to establish a state based on the Ten Commandments and Acholi tradition. The LRA is accused of widespread human rights violations, including mutilation, torture, rape, the abduction of civilians, the use of child soldiers and a number of massacres.

Boża Armia Oporu (ang. Lord's Resistance Army, w skrócie BAO) - ugandyjskie, ugrupowanie wojskowe, działające od 1986 r. w północnej Ugandzie.BAO założył generał-major Joseph Kony, który sam siebie ogłosił prorokiem i głosem Ducha Świętego. Ugrupowanie walczy o ustanowienie w Ugandzie państwa wyznaniowego, opartego na dziesięciu przykazaniach.Przypuszcza się, iż bazy i główne punkty oporu BAO znajdują się na południu Sudanu, przez co władze Ugandy oskarżają ten kraj o wspieranie armii, choć same - z drugiej strony - wspierają działającą na południu Sudanu Ludową Armię Wyzwoleńczą.
