A sea-breeze (or onshore breeze) is a wind from the sea that develops over land near coasts. It is formed by increasing temperature differences between the land and water which create a pressure minimum over the land due to its relative warmth and forces higher pressure, cooler air from the sea to move inland.

Seewind nennt man den in Küstengebieten auftretenden Wind, der tagsüber vom Meer bzw. Ozean zum Land weht. Der Seewind ist eine thermische Ausgleichsströmung, die durch das Aufsteigen der über den Landflächen stärker erhitzten Luft in Gang gesetzt wird. Siehe auch:  Land-Seewind System

Wyż]] Bryza - wiatr wiejący na wybrzeżu morskim. Zmiany kierunku wiatru, występujące w rytmie dobowym, wywołane są różnicami w nagrzewaniu się lądu i morza. W dzień ląd nagrzewa się szybciej niż woda, dlatego cieplejsze powietrze nad lądem unosi się, a na jego miejsce pojawia się chłodniejsze i wilgotniejsze powietrze znad morza. Zatem bryza dzienna (bryza morska) wieje znad morza na ląd. Natomiast w nocy woda oddaje szybciej ciepło niż ląd. Zjawisko powtarza się, ale wiatr wieje w przeciwnym kierunku. Bryza nocna (bryza lądowa) przynosi na wodę suche powietrze znad lądu. Zasięg bryzy to ok. 20-30 km od linii brzegowej w stronę wody. W stronę lądu zasięg ten jest wyraźnie mniejszy i uzależniony od charakteru powierzchni.
