Liège (IPA [], Older English: Luick, Walloon: Lidje, Dutch: Luik, German: Lüttich; Latin: Leodium; until 1949, the city's name was written Liége, with the acute accent instead of a grave accent) is a major city and municipality in Belgium located in the Walloon province of Liège, of which it is the administrative capital. It is situated in the valley of the river Meuse (or Maas) near Belgium's eastern borders with the Netherlands and Germany, where the Meuse meets the Ourthe. It is in the former sillon industriel, the industrial backbone of Wallonia.

Lüttich (französisch amtlich Liège, bis 1949 Liége, wallonisch Lîdje, niederländisch Luik) ist das kulturelle Zentrum der Wallonischen Region Belgiens, Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen Provinz und des Bistums Lüttich. Als Stadt mit 187.086 Einwohnern (2006) liegt Lüttich am Zusammenfluss von Ourthe und Maas nahe den Städten Maastricht in den Niederlanden und Aachen in Deutschland. Das Lütticher Becken zählt mit Vorstädten ungefähr 600.000 Einwohner. Das Bevökerungswachstum der Stadt entspricht mit 0,5% in etwa dem belgischen Durchschnitt (0,6%).

Największy ośrodek francuskiego obszaru językowego w Belgii. Stolica prowincji o tej samej nazwie.Gmina Liège składa się z Angleur, Bressoux, Chênée, Glain, Grivegnée, Jupille-sur-Meuse, Rocourt i Wandre.Miasto jest głównym centrum ekonomicznym i kulturowym Walonii. Aglomeracja liczy 476 000 do 600 000 mieszkańców (w zależności od tego, gdzie umiejscowimy jej granice) i jest trzecią największą aglomeracją w Belgii po Brukseli i Antwerpii. Liège jest także drugim największym miastem w Walonii po Charleroi.

Liegi (in vallone Lîdje, in francese Liège, in neerlandese Luik, in tedesco Lüttich) è una città del Belgio, capoluogo dell'omonima provincia nella Vallonia. La popolazione è di circa 185.000 abitanti (600.000 considerando l'agglomerato urbano).L'agglomerato urbano è formato, oltre che dalla stessa città di Liegi e da alcune zone rurali, anche dai comuni limitrofi di Seraing, Saint-Nicolas, Ans, Herstal, Beyne-Heusay, Fléron, Chaudfontaine, Esneux e Flémalle.Liegi è sede del Royal Standard de Liège, una delle più importanti società di calcio del Belgio.
