Kumu-Honua

In Hawaiian mythology, Kumu-Honua ("first on Earth") is the first man. He was married to Lalo-Honua; the couple was given a garden by Kāne and were forbidden from eating a particular fruit. This story may be in whole or in part Christianized.

[Polynesian] "First on Earth". He was the first man in Hawaiian myth. His wife is Lalo-Honua ("Below Earth"). They were given a fine garden by Kane where they lived happily. They were not allowed to eat a certain fruit, but this part of the tale seems Christianized.
