Kubera

Kubera (Sanskrit: कुबेर) (also Kuvera or Kuber) is the king of the Yakshas and the lord of wealth in Hindu mythology. He is also known as Dhanapati, the lord of riches. He is one of the Guardians of the directions , representing the Uttara-disha, meaning north of 4 directions in Sanskrit.Kubera is also the son of Sage Vishrava (hence he is also called Vaisravana) and in this respect, he is also the elder brother of the Lord of Lanka, Ravana. The banks of river Narmada is described as the birth place of Yaksha king Kubera (Vaisravana), where his father Visravas, who was a sage, lived. It is also  a territory of Gandharvas. Kubera est le dieu des richesses, "dhanpati" en sanscrit. Il règne sur les richesses souterraines de la Terre, tels les diamants, perles, or, argent, pierres précieuses et tout ce que la Terre fournit en termes de richesses. L'une des huit déités gardiennes des directions, dikpâla, Kubera gouverne le Nord - luxuriant et riche par opposition au Sud qui est le domaine de Yama, la mort, et du feu. Il est représenté comme un personnage replet, généralement assis sur des pots remplis de trésors. Parfois aussi, il prend la forme d'un éléphant blanc (cf photo).

Bishamon (jap. 毘沙門, auch: Bishamonten (毘沙門天); Sanskrit: Vaiśravaṇa; tib.: rNam thos sras, auch Kubera oder Jambhala genannt; deutsch: König des Nordens ) ist eine buddhistische Wesenheit und gehört zu den vier Himmelskönigen. In der allgemeinen japanischen Religion ist er einer der sieben Glücksgötter (Shichi Fukujin).

Кубе́ра — «имеющий уродливое тело» — бог богатства, владыка якшей. Сын мудреца Вайшраваса (отсюда его второе имя — Вайшравана) и старший брат Раваны. Первоначально Кубера был хтоническим божеством и ассоциировался с землёй и горами. Со временем у него появился и внешний облик, напоминающий облик бога плодородия. Куберу изображают с большим животом, двумя руками, тремя ногами, восемью зубами и одним глазом.
