Krefeld

Krefeld is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located southwest of the Ruhr area, its center just a few kilometres to the west of the River Rhine. (The borough of Uerdingen is situated directly on the Rhine.) The city was also known as Crefeld until 1929. It is accessed by the autobahns A57 (Cologne - Nijmegen) and the A44 (Aachen - Düsseldorf - Dortmund - Kassel)

Krefeld est une ville d'Allemagne, située dans le land de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie. Jusqu'en 1900, la ville s'appelait Crefeld. Sa population se monte à 238 031 habitants (statistiques du 30 juin 2005).

Die Stadt Krefeld (bis 1929 auch Crefeld), ist eine kreisfreie Stadt am linken Niederrhein, nordwestlich von Düsseldorf, südwestlich von Duisburg in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Aufgrund der Seidenstoffproduktion des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts wird sie auch als „Samt- und Seidenstadt“ bezeichnet. Krefeld ist mit 240.627 Einwohnern (Stand: Dezember 2006) eine Großstadt mittlerer Größe. Innerhalb des Regierungsbezirks Düsseldorf nimmt sie gegenwärtig der Einwohnerzahl nach den sechsten Platz ein.

Krefeld, do 1929 używano także pisowni Crefeld - miasto na prawach powiatu w Niemczech położone na południowy zachód od Zagłębia Ruhry w pobliżu Renu.Już za czasów rzymskich istniał obóz Gelduba, a Krefeld pierwszy raz zostało wzmiankowane w 1105. W XVII wieku wojna trzydziestoletnia ominęła Krefeld. W 1683 trzynaście rodzin opuściło Krefeld i założyło Germantown koło Filadelfii w stanie Pensylwania. Dzielnica Linn była do 1901 odrębnym miastem, Uerdingen do 1929.

Krefeld è una città della Germania nel Land del Nord Reno-Westfalia. Sotto l'Impero romano venne fondato l'accampamento di Gelduba per le legioni romane, ora corrispondente al quartiere di Gellup.
