King James Version

The Authorized King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Bible by the Church of England begun in 1604 and first published in 1611. In common with most other translations of the period, the New Testament was translated from the Textus Receptus (Received Text) series of the  Greek texts. The Old Testament was translated from the Masoretic Hebrew text, while the Apocrypha was translated from the Greek Septuagint (LXX).

Die King-James-Bibel (engl. King James Version (KJV)) ist eine englische Übersetzung der Bibel. Sie wurde im Auftrag von König Jakob I. von England für die Anglikanische Kirche erstellt. Seit ihrer Erstveröffentlichung im Jahre 1611 ist sie die einflussreichste englischsprachige Übersetzung der Bibel. In der Folgezeit wurden sieben Auflagen herausgegeben; die 1769 entstandene ist die heute in der Hauptsache verwendete.

Biblia Króla Jakuba (ang. King James Version, w skrócie: KJV), Biblia Autoryzowana – to protestanckie, angielskie tłumaczenie Biblii zamówione na potrzeby Kościoła Anglii przez króla Jakuba I. Pierwsze wydanie pochodzi z roku 1611. Tłumaczenie to miało głęboki wpływ nie tylko na wszystkie następne angielskie tłumaczenia Biblii, ale także na całą literaturę angielską. Dzieła takich znanych autorów jak John Bunyan, John Milton, Herman Melville, John Dryden i William Wordsworth są wypełnione treściami, dla których inspiracją w oczywisty sposób była ta wersja Biblii. Na marginesach KJV umieszczone były Roczniki Świata Jamesa Usshera (patrz Tradycyjna chronologia biblijna).

La Bibbia di Re Giacomo (King James Version, KJV, come è conosciuta principalmente negli USA), o Versione Autorizzata (Authorized Version, come è conosciuta principalmente nel Regno Unito), è la traduzione della Bibbia in inglese per eccellenza.
