The inclusive educational and diagnostic approach involves a recognition that all individuals have to be viewed within a given context. Individual pupils learning performance can be understood only in respect to particular circumstances. Educational difficulties are defined in terms of tasks, activities and classroom conditions and not in handicapping terms such as deficient or handicapped. In the inclusive view a handicap is the result of a physical disability or a learning disability in handicapping societal conditions.
