Khmer rouge

The Khmer Rouge was the ruling political party of Cambodia—which it renamed the  Democratic Kampuchea—from  1975 to 1979. The term "Khmer Rouge," meaning "Red Khmer" in French, was coined by Cambodian head of state Norodom Sihanouk and was later adopted in English speakers. It was used to refer to a succession of Communist parties in Cambodia which evolved into the Communist Party of Kampuchea (CPK) and later the Party of Democratic Kampuchea. The organization was also known as the Khmer Communist Party and the National Army of Democratic Kampuchea.

Les Khmers rouges (en khmer : Khmaey Krahom), dont le nom officiel fut successivement Parti communiste du Cambodge et Parti du Kampuchéa démocratique (autres noms : Parti communiste du Kampuchéa, PCK, Parti communiste khmer, Armée nationale du Kampuchéa démocratique, PDK), étaient les membres d'une organisation communiste qui fut au pouvoir au Cambodge de 1975 à 1979.

Die Roten Khmer (franz. Khmers rouges) waren eine Guerillatruppe, die 1975 in Kambodscha an die Macht kam und durch besondere Grausamkeit weltweite Bekanntheit erlangten. Sie selbst stellten sich als Kommunisten, zeitweise auch als Maoisten dar. Ihr Name leitet sich vom kambodschanischen Staatsvolk, den Khmer, ab.

Czerwoni Khmerzy (fr. Khmer Rouge) – organizacja komunistyczna, pozostając pod wpływami maoizmu, która rządziła Kambodżą w latach 1975-1979. Jej oficjalną nazwą była Komunistyczna Partia Kambodży, a potem Partia Demokratycznej Kampuczy. Czerwoni Khmerzy odpowiadają za śmierć ok. 25% obywateli kraju.

Khmer Rossi ("Khmaey Krahom" in lingua khmer) è il nome di una organizzazione politica comunista rimasta al potere in Cambogia dal 17 aprile 1975 al 9 gennaio 1979. Il termine Khmer Rossi - dall'originale in lingua francese Khmer Rouge - fu coniato dal sovrano Norodom Sihanouk. Il loro nome ufficiale fu Partito Comunista della Cambogia, più tardi Partito della Kampuchea Democratica.
