Kerala

Kerala (; Malayalam: ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of southwestern India. To its east and northeast, Kerala borders Tamil Nadu and Karnataka respectively; to its west and south lie the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, with the islands of Lakshadweep and the Maldives, respectively. Kerala nearly envelopes Mahé, a coastal exclave of Pondicherry. Kerala is one of the four states of South India.

Le Kerala (translittération française : Kérala) est un État du sud de l'Inde. Situé au sud-ouest de la péninsule indienne, il appartient, culturellement et linguistiquement à l'Inde du Sud. On y parle une langue qui, pour l'essentiel, est spécifique à l'État : le malayalam ; il fait partie des langues dravidiennes, prédominantes dans la région.

Kerala (Malayalam: കേരളം, Kēraḷam) ist ein Bundesstaat an der Malabarküste im Südwesten Indiens mit einer Fläche von 38.863 km² und 32.802.812 Einwohnern (Stand: 1. Januar 2006). Die Bevölkerungsdichte beträgt 844 Einwohner je km². Damit gehört der Staat zu den am dichtesten besiedelten Regionen Indiens. Hauptstadt ist Thiruvananthapuram (das ehemalige Trivandrum).

Kerala (IPA: ; hindi केरल, trb.: Kerala, trl.: Kerala; malajalam: കേരളം – Keralam; ang. Kerala) - stan w południowo-zachodnich Indiach na Wybrzeżu Malabarskim. Stan ten graniczy z Tamil Nadu i Karnataką na wschodzie i północnym wschodzie, na zachodzie i południu graniczy z Oceanem Indyjskim, na jej terytorium znaduje się także Mahé - przybrzeżna enklawa terytorium związkowego Puducherry. Urzędowym językiem jest malajalam, posługujący się odrębnym alfabetem.

Il Kerala (o Keralam, malayalam: കേരളം) è uno stato dell'India meridionale, che occupa una stretta striscia della costa sud-occidentale del Paese. Chiamato Keralam dai suoi abitanti, il Kerala è lo stato indiano con il tasso di alfabetizzazione più elevato (oltre il 90% della popolazione). La lingua ufficiale dello stato è il malayalam.
