Kelvin
The kelvin is a unit of measurement for temperature. It is one of the seven base units in the International System of Units (SI) and is assigned the unit symbol K. The Kelvin scale is an absolute, thermodynamic temperature scale using as its null point absolute zero, the temperature at which all thermal motion ceases in the classical description of thermodynamics. The kelvin is defined as the fraction of the thermodynamic temperature of the triple point of water .

Kelvin
Das Kelvin (Einheitenzeichen: K) ist die SI-Basiseinheit der thermodynamischen Temperatur und zugleich gesetzliche Temperatureinheit; es wird auch zur Angabe von Temperaturdifferenzen verwendet. Hierneben ist in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz der Grad Celsius (Einheitenzeichen: °C) gesetzliche Einheit für die Angabe von Celsius-Temperaturen und deren Differenzen.

Kelwin
Kelwin - jednostka temperatury w układzie SI równa 1/273,16 temperatury termodynamicznej punktu potrójnego wody, oznaczana K.
Skala Kelvina (skala bezwzględna) jest skalą absolutną, tzn. zero w tej skali oznacza najniższą teoretycznie możliwą temperaturę, jaką może mieć ciało. Jest to temperatura w której (wg fizyki klasycznej) ustały wszelkie drgania cząsteczek. Temperatura ta nie została nigdy osiągnięta, gdyż praktycznie nie da się jej osiągnąć, lecz obliczono ją na podstawie funkcji uzależniającej temperaturę od energii kinetycznej w gazach doskonałych. Funkcję tę opracował Lord Kelvin; od niego pochodzi też nazwa skali.
