Kant, Kyrgyzstan

Kant is a city in the Chui Valley of northern Kyrgyzstan, some 20 km from the capital of Bishkek. The Kyrgyz word for sugar is "Kant", and the city received its name when a sugar plant was built there in the 1930s. (It is an often repeated myth that the town was named after the German philosopher Immanuel Kant).

Kant est une ville du nord de la vallée Chuy Kirghizistan, à environ 20 km de la capitale, Bichkek. Le mot kirghize pour le sucre est "Kant", et la ville a reçu son nom quand une usine de sucre a été construit dans les années 1930. קאנט (בקירגיזית: Кант) היא עיר בצפון קירגיזסטן הממוקמת כ-20 קילומטרים מהבירה בישקק, הקרויה על שם הפילוסוף הגרמני עמנואל קאנט. העיר היא מרכז תעשייתי שבמהלך העידן הסובייטי הייתה מיושבת במספר גדול של גרמנים שיושבו מחדש בכפייה שם ב-1941 כאשר הרפובליקה הסובייטית הסוציאליסטית האוטנומית של גרמנים וולגים פורקה.בקירבת מקום ממוקם בסיס חיל אוויר רוסי.
