Kalima

The Six Kalimas are recorded in various books of knowledge, and are recited (and remembered) by Muslims across the globe. These kalimas were compiled together for people to memorise and learn the basic fundamentals of Islam. They are not found altogether complete in any one hadith or narration from Muhammad (believed by Muslims to be the final Prophet). However, some of them can be found individually in the narrations.

Die Schahada , aus dem Verb (auch im juristischen Sinne) abgeleitet, ist das Glaubensbekenntnis des Islams:Lā ilāha illa ʾllāh(u) : „Es gibt keinen Gott außer Gott“ ist der erste Teil des Glaubensbekenntnisses und kommt in dieser Form im Koran an zwei Stellen vor: in Sure 37:35 und in Sure 47:19. Der zweite Teil des Glaubensbekenntnisses ist die Bestätigung von Mohammeds Prophetie als Gesandter Gottes:Muḥammadun rasūlu ʾllāh(i) – – Mohammed ist der Gesandte Gottes. Somit spricht man im islamischen Recht und in der Theologie von den zwei Glaubensbekenntnissen: asch-schahadatan Die Schiiten fügen meist noch einen dritten Satz hinzu:ʿAlīy walīyu ʾllāh(i) – – Ali ist der Freund Gottes.

La shahāda (الشهادة) è la testimonianza con cui il fedele musulmano dichiara di credere in un Dio Uno e Unico e nella missione profetica di Muhammad.La formula araba suona: Ašhadu an là ilàha illà Allàh - wa ašhadu anna Muhammada Rasulu Allàh, cioè: "Testimonio che non c'è divinità se non Dio (Allàh) e testimonio che Muhammad è il suo Messaggero" (in arabo أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمد رسول الله).La shahāda costituisce la conditio sine qua non per diventare musulmano, qualora la formula sia espressa con retta intenzione (niyya) e sia pronunciata in modo intellegibile di fronte a due testimoni musulmani maschi, in grado di rendere testimonianza in un giudizio islamico, ricordando che per il diritto musulmano (šarī‘a) la testimonianza virile vale il doppio di quella muliebre.
