Kadans is a
Haitian Creole music genre, which started off in
Haïti and developed in the French islands. In the 1970s, a wave of Haïtian immigrants to
Martinique brought with them the kadans, a sophisticated form of music that helped unite all the former French colonies of the Caribbean by combining their cultural influences. Derived from
jazz music. The group
Exile One is credited with the formation of this new music in the middle of the 20th century.
