Kabye
Kabye is the name for both the Kaybe or
Kabiyé language and peoples of the northern plains of
Togo. The Kabye are primarily known for farming and cultivation of the fertile Kara Valley area of Togo. While they are a minority ethnic group within the country of Togo, the region has experienced significant infrastructure improvements due to the country's former president,
Gnassingbé Eyadema, who was of Kabye ethnicity. Togo is now led by Eyadema's son,
Faure Gnassingbé.

afrikanische Sprache, die in
Togo in der Region
Kara vorrangig in Kozah und Binah von ca. 700000 (1998) Sprechern gebraucht wird. Etwa 65 % der Sprecher leben im Zentrum von Togo oder in den Plateau Regionen. Hauptsächlich findet sich die Sprache in den togolesischen Gebieten Sotouboua, Blitta, Kloto, Ogou, Amlame, Wawa, und Haho.
