Jyesthadeva
Jyestadeva (ജ്യേഷ്ഠദേവ(ന്)) (
1500
-1575), was an
astronomer
of the
Kerala school
founded by
Madhava of Sangamagrama
and a student of
Damodara
. He is most known for authoring a commentary
Yuktibhasa
, the first
calculus
text of the world. This work was unique at the time for its exacting
proof
s of the
theorems
it presented. He also authored the Drk-karana on astronomical observations.
