Justin Chancellor

Justin Gunnar Walte Chancellor (born November 19, 1971) is an English-born musician; currently the bass player for Tool and formerly of the band Peach. Chancellor is of Norwegian descent and he speaks the language fluently. Since settling in the US, along with his engagement in his musical projects, he and his wife Shelee run a store called Lobal Orning in Topanga, California, dedicated to music, literature and film "that shaped and changed" both of them. False comedic rumors state that Justin is a mute, because he rarely ever speaks, even in interviews.

Justin Gunnar Walte Chancellor (* 19. November 1971 in England) ist Bassist der Progressive Metal-Band Tool und ehemaliges Mitglied der Metal-Band Peach. Nach seiner Auswanderung in die USA gründeten Justin und seine Ehefrau Shelee das Geschäft Lobal Orning in Topango, Kalifornien, welches sich der Musik, Literatur und dem Film widmet.

Justin Gunnar Walte Chancellor urodzony 19 listopada 1971 roku w Hrabstwie Kent w Anglii. Od 1996 roku basista progresywno-metalowego zespołu Tool.W młodości był zapalonym piłkarzem. Rodzice Justina byli przekonani, że ich syn zostanie kiedyś słynnym zawodnikiem. Jednak tak się nie stało, choć do dziś Justin jest miłośnikiem futbolu i kibicem Chelsea FC. Często na koncertach można zobaczyć go w koszulce piłkarskiej z numerem 8 i nazwiskiem "Lampard", bo to właśnie Frank Lampard jest jego ulubionym piłkarzem.

Incontrò i Tool per la prima volta a New York, e rimase in contatto con i membri della band per un paio di anni fino a che la band inglese di Justin, i "Peach", fecero un tour Europeo con i Tool nel 1994.Quando il bassista originale Paul D'Amour se ne andò, i Tool chiamarono Justin. All’inizio rifiutò. I Peach si erano sciolti circa 6 mesi prima, e lui stava formando un altro gruppo con l’ex chitarrista. Justin era molto fedele al suo amico col quale suonava da quando avevano 14 anni. Ma alla fine decise che non poteva gettare via una possibilità simile.

Justin Chancellor (19 november 1971) is een in Engeland geboren muzikant. Vroeger speelde hij in de band Peach, maar tegenwoordig is hij vooral bekend als bassist voor Amerikaanse progressieve metalband Tool. Hij heeft een bijzondere speelstijl; hij gebruikt de bas meer als melodie-instrument dan als deel van de ritmesectie.
