Jupiter (Planet)

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet within the solar system. It is two and a half times as massive as all of the other planets in our solar system combined. Jupiter, along with Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, is classified as a gas giant. Together, these four planets are sometimes referred to as the Jovian planets, where Jovian is the adjectival form of Jupiter.

Jowisz – piąta w kolejności oddalenia od Słońca i największa planeta Układu Słonecznego. Posiada wiele księżyców (odkryto 63) oraz system pierścieni. Jowisz wraz z Saturnem, Uranem i Neptunem to planety gazowe, czasem nazywane również planetami jowiszowymi.Jasność Jowisza waha się w okolicy -2,3 ^m, maksymalnie wynosi ona -2,7 m. Jest on jedną z pięciu planet widocznych gołym okiem i jednocześnie zazwyczaj czwartym pod względem jasności obiektem na niebie (po Słońcu, Księżycu, i Wenus). W czasie wyjątkowo korzystnych opozycji Marsa, jasność Marsa może przewyższać jasność Jowisza - wtedy ten ostatni spada na piątą pozycję w skali jasności.

Giove è il quinto pianeta del sistema solare in ordine di distanza dal Sole, ed è di gran lunga il più massiccio. Il suo campo gravitazionale gioca un ruolo fondamentale nella determinazione delle orbite degli altri pianeti e corpi minori (soprattutto comete e asteroidi) del sistema solare; la sua massa è circa due volte e mezza la massa di tutti gli altri pianeti messi assieme.
