Juneau

The City and Borough of Juneau (pronounced ) is a unified municipality located on the Gastineau Channel on the Alexander Archipelago of Alaska. Juneau is the capital of the U.S. state of Alaska. The municipality unified in 1970 when the City of Juneau merged with the City of Douglas and the surrounding borough to form the current home rule municipality.

La ville de Juneau (en anglais ) est la capitale de l'État de l'Alaska, aux États-Unis, depuis 1906. Elle est située sur la bande continentale du sud-est de l'Alaska, au bord du détroit de Gastineau. Juneau est la seule capitale d'un État américain à ne pas être reliée par le réseau routier. Le seul moyen de s'y rendre est l’avion ou le bateau. Lors du recensement de 2000, sa population était de habitants, ce qui en faisait la troisième ville d'Alaska, loin derrière Anchorage ( habitants).

Juneau è la capitale dell'Alaska, negli Stati Uniti d'America. I confini della città coincidono con quelli del Borough di Juneau (in Alaska i Borough, o distretti, sostituiscono le contee), e l'amministrazione locale opera sia a livello cittadino che di distretto. La popolazione, nel 2004, ammontava a 31.118 abitanti. La città è la seconda più estesa degli Stati Uniti, superata di poco da un'altra città dell'Alaska, Sitka.
