June ( ) is the sixth month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and one of the four months with a length of 30 days.  Ovid provides two etymologies for June's name in his poem concerning the months entitled the Fasti. The first is that the month is named after the Roman goddess Juno, wife of Jupiter and equivalent to the Greek goddess Hera, the second is that the name comes from the Latin word iuniores, meaning "younger ones," as opposed to maiores ("elders") for which the preceding month May may be named (Fasti VI.1–88). Hyun Jun (현준, born January 2, 1987), better known as June, is a solo R&B singer under Sony Music Japan. He is Korean by birth, but is a performer in Japan. So far, he has released three singles and most recently a mini-album. His first single "Baby It's You" was used as the ninth ending theme for the anime Bleach. His second single "Pride of Tomorrow" was the second ending theme for the anime D.Gray-Man.

Nazwa miesiąca (wg Brücknera) pochodzi od słowa czerw oznaczającego larwę pszczoły. Inne źródła wywodzą nazwę miesiąca i nazwę koloru czerwonego od owada czerwca polskiego, z którego wyrabiano czerwony barwnik do tkanin i zbierano w czerwcu na korzeniach rośliny czerwiec trwały. Polska przez kilka wieków była głównym dostarczycielem czerwców do Europy. Inne nazwy używane dawniej to: ugornik bądź zok. Łacińska nazwa Iunius (zobacz: kalendarz rzymski) została zapożyczona przez większość języków europejskich (choć nie słowiańskich, które mają swoje własne określenia miesięcy).
