Joktan

Joktan or Yoktan was the second of the two sons of Eber (Gen. 10:25; 1 Chr. 1:19) mentioned in the Hebrew Bible and means "small" or "smallness".In the Book of Genesis 10:25 "And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan."

Yoktan est un personnage de la Genèse. Il est le fils de Eber et le frère de Pèleg. Il aurait eu 13 fils : Almodad, Schéleph, Hatsarmaveth, Jérach, Hadoram, Uzal, Dikla, Obal, Abimaël, Séba, Ophir, Havila et Jobab.

Joktan ist nach dem 1. Buch Mose (Kapitel 10, Vers 25) ein Sohn Ebers, Enkel Salahs und Ur-Enkel Arpachsads. Sein Bruder war Peleg. Laut Altem Testament war er ein Nachkomme von Noahs Sohn Sem und der Urururgroßonkel Abrahams.
