John Hunyadi
John Hunyadi (Medieval Latin: Ioannes Corvinus,  Hungarian: Hunyadi János, Romanian: Iancu or Ioan de Hunedoara) (c. 1387–August 11, 1456), nicknamed the White Knight, was a Voivode of Transylvania (from 1441), captain-general (1444–1446) and regent (1446–1453) of the Kingdom of Hungary, with a distinguished military career. He was the father of Matthias, one of the most renowned kings of Hungary.
